I'm doing a survey ...

Do you like knitting blogs that are more text-heavy or photo heavy? I tend to like fewer words and more visuals, when it comes to knitting blogs. Writers' blogs are a different matter; I care little whether there are any pictures at all.

What do y'all like about knitting blogs?

cat bed part 2

cat bed part 2

I wanted the cat bed to sit up, so I inserted one of those fleece cat beds you can buy at the pet store and now it's purr-fect. And Rosie loves it, too (well, she loved it before, but anyhoo...)

Rosie asleep

Rosie asleep
Originally uploaded by inkmama.
Here's three-month-old Rosie, asleep on the Fringed Forest cat bed from Cat Bordhi's A Second Treasury of Magical Knitting. I used Cascade 220 and felted it. The pattern called for a thicker wool and I imagine if I'd used it instead of the Cascade (or doubled the Cascade strands), the sides would stand up. The Cascade felts elegantly, but isn't stiff.

I love this book. So many wonderful, creative projects. And the author is generous and responsive. So far I've made the Fringed Forest cat bed. (Just above is Rosie, asleep on it.)
