Two more hats

Here's yet another earflap hat, this time for Travis' friend, Evan. And a rolled brim hat for Travis. I used Lamb's Pride worsted and Kim's hat pattern from Last Minute Knitted Gifts.

Fairly Easy Fair Isle finished!

I loved making this sweater. I pretty much followed the pattern in Stitch 'n Bitch Nation, just a little adjusting between the x-tra small size and small. Here I am, in Mammoth (where we just spent five days in the lovely snow) in the bathroom, doing a self-portrait.

Another earflap hat

Here's Travis in a earflap hat from Last Minute Knitted Gifts. Used Lamb's Pride worsted, which has a beautiful sheen. I do like it more than Cascade 220. A quick knit, but all one color gets to you (me) after a while.

Fairly Easy Fair Isle in progress

Here it is, the body joined to the sleeves and a first row of the yoke pattern. I'm using the pattern from Stitch 'n Bitch Nation, the same colors as the pattern called for--a Bulky Brown Sheep on 10.5 needles. The pattern is moving fast. So far, so good. Very enjoyable to knit.

Birch in block limbo

Here's Birchy-poo, pinned down and sprayed on my son's bed. Talk about trying to find a place to block it! We have wood floors, i.e., No Carpets. I took a sewing board and spread beach towels over it and pinned it and sprayed it with water.

Such a lovely piece. I loved knitting it, too. You can order the magazine from here.

The Birch shawl is finished!

Here it is, unblocked and basking in the sun. I used Kid Seta, a little more than three balls. I don't know if I just knit loose or what, but I had to run out and buy more. The only place around here that carries Kid Seta (in gorgeous colors!) is The Sheared Sheep, a new knitting shop in Newport Beach/Costa Mesa. I loved knitting the Birch, once I figured out how to keep my place. I used stitch markers every 10 stitches and I also used big Post its. I placed one on either side of the row I was on, in the Rowan magazine, like a horse with blinders. And I always wrote down the row's number, too.
